In March 2018, MSE were commissioned to form a key part of the Public Inquiry team for the Chiswick Curve tower block in west London. Both Kew Gardens and Hounslow Borough Council were concerned about the impact of such a tall building on views from heritage assets, both within the UNESCO World Heritage Site at Kew Gardens and also from Conservation Areas along the banks of the River Thames. Our Proof of Evidence formed a key part of the Public Inquiry and gave confidence on the accuracy of the visualisation work being presented to the Planning Inspector.
Our robust approach included recording 3D points on adjacent buildings, and using LiDAR DSM data to ensure the visualisations were prepared to an extremely high degree of accuracy. Resultant visualisations were presented in acetates for use from viewpoint locations.
